The Estate is pleased to provide a brief historical background on the origins of the structure that welcomes you as welcome guests. This Farmhouse is registered with the Municipality of Cavriglia as "Colonica La Valle" and takes its name directly from the place where it is located; called precisely "Valle di Sopra." La Valle was established as far back as 1730 and, probably, given its dominant position, it is inferred to have been a "Padronale" farmhouse, built and inhabited by the owners of the land. The structure over the centuries has undergone various structural changes, which have resurfaced in the recent conservative restoration. The ground floor, occupied by a large stable for sheltering herds, is now a functional living space that preserves the original cross-ribbed ceiling. The manger has also been preserved, which, covered with walnut planks recovered in the careful restoration, has become an integral part of a large room. In the adjoining room, once used for bread-making, there is a splendid oven with a large diameter (more than two meters) and a wood-burning stove fully recovered from the restoration. To the side, a small stone niche is now dedicated to wine storage. The second floor, on the other hand, has always been dedicated to residential use and has certainly housed large Tuscan sharecropping families. Finally, underground and located under the entrance to the Colonica, there is a cellar that can be accessed from a gallery that runs under the garden. What marked the phases of the long and meticulous conservative restoration was the absolute and primary intention of the Property to reuse the original materials of the structure, so every single brick of terracotta, stone or wooden beam was lovingly recovered and given new life inside the Colonica.

Following the ancient roads dotted with cypress trees, you will discover beautiful silent villages, you will find small characteristic places, wine bars and restaurants that will divinely stimulate your sense of smell and satisfy your taste buds, making your stay in Tuscany unforgettable.
B&B La valle is only 3 km from the San Giovanni Valdarno Railway Station, which can also be reached by a convenient bike path. In the structure there is a large area used for free reserved parking while it can be reached by car from the A1 highway - Valdarno exit with a distance of 8 km from the toll booth.
